My name is Jesse Bascle and I created the website Nolarolla for people in wheelchairs who like me, love going out to eat  and drink with friends in New Orleans, as well as travel to other cities of the world to see what they have to offer – especially in terms of great food, beer, and accessible places to visit. Despite barriers to air travel, public transportation, and worst of all, restrooms, I have overcome many of them. I go out regularly and am always looking for new, great local restaurants that take accessibility seriously.

I am a lifelong foodie resident of New Orleans, and have been to dozens of restaurants, bars, and tourist attractions throughout the city. I want visitors coming to my town to have a Big Easy time having fun rather than stress over what they can and cannot get into. Not every restaurant or bar is accessible. I can guide you to the ones that are, and then tell you about my experience with the food, the space, and the people.

My travel outside New Orleans has been motivated by my quest for trying beers from all around the world. I’ve been to Europe twice so far and I want to share my accessibility experiences with transportation, restaurants, and public attractions. I have some useful tips that will likely make traveling abroad easier for people in wheelchairs. With a little extra planning, you can see the Amsterdam canals, eat some delicious food goulash, pie, stroopwafels, Schweinshaxe, and drink with friends in Prague, just like I did!
